Literacy and Numeracy support to get you on your way.
The Y Southland can provide literacy and numeracy training that is specific to your needs. We use everyday and relevant learning tasks to provide this training, so in some cases you’ll be learning key literacy and numeracy basics without even knowing it!
YMCA New Zealand uses the Literacy and Numeracy for Adults National Assessment Tool to measure need, inform tailor-made programmes and measure progress.
ILN is open to
- those aged between 16 and 24 years (or 15 with an exemption certificate)
- NZ citizens or permanent residents
- Learners who are not enrolled elsewhere
This programme will support you to pursue future opportunities such as
- NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 1
- Transition support to further study or employment
Please note that enrolment into this programme is subject to a Literacy/Numeracy Assessment.
