Youth Mentoring
One on one support for young people
Here at the Y we have a team of youth workers who provide one-on-one support for young people who may need support for a variety of reasons.
Our team works alongside young people who are referred to our service by Oranga Tamariki. Our youth workers walk alongside young people, offering mentoring services and supporting teens as they navigate life’s challenges. Once a referral is received from Oranga Tamariki, we match the young person with a youth worker, who will then provide support that is catered to the needs of the individual.
Our youth mentoring is designed to be short term and goal focused. We seek to encourage and motivate our clients to engage with new activities and experiences, and to empower young people to achieve success as defined by them.
