Join the Y Skills programme – a free, two-week programme to give you key info and skills for the future.

No tests, no pressure, just real life skills and good vibes.

  • 9am to 2pm
  • Weekdays – Monday September 22 – Thursday October 2
  • Held at the Y (77 Tay St, Invercargill)

This course is designed to give you confidence, connections and practical skills for life after school.

We’ll cover

  • Setting goals for your future
  • Creating a standout CV and cover letter
  • Nailing personal presentation and interview prep
  • Discovering volunteer opportunities
  • Connecting with community and support services
  • Finding a mentor who gets you
  • Exploring study/course options and driver licensing

Y Skills is an ACE programme (Adult and Community Education), and there is criteria for involvement. Participants must be

  • Aged 16+
  • Not enrolled in education or school
  • A NZ Citizen or resident
