10 reasons the Y is the gym for you!

1. We’re not for profit
The Y is a non-profit organisation. That means any profit generated from the Fitness Centre is directed back into the Southland community through other Y services and programmes, including our awesome youth development initiatives. So by being a Y member, you’re also supporting young people in Southland – how good!

2. We’ve got awesome group fitness classes
We have such a great range of group fitness classes, included with your membership. There’s Coach by Colour Spin, which is an innovative spin class that caters to every fitness level. There’s also Y-Muscle Fit (workout with weights), Box Fit (get your gloves on!), Y-Fusion (functional pilates) and Y-HIIT (high intensity interval training) – something for everyone!

3. We’ve got a sauna
Set at about 60 degrees, it’s so good – enough said!

4. We’ve got a climbing and bouldering wall – and it’s included in your membership
You can come to open climbing nights on Mondays or Wednesdays (6pm-9pm) where our instructors can show you the ropes (literally) or get your Y-approved belay licence and use the wall anytime during staffed hours.

5. You get 24/7 access
Work out as and when it suits you with easy, 24/7 access.

6. We don’t do additional fees
No joining fees, no fees for a key tag, no extra fees. When you join the Y you pay the price set and that’s it.

7. We offer flexi memberships
When you join on a flexi membership you can cancel anytime (no contract).

We also offer 12 month memberships, so choose whatever suits you best!

8. You get deals and discounts at a range of different places just for being a member
Deals and discounts at Splash Palace, Torpedo 7 and more are available to Y members.

9. We’re local and love it!
Southland based, Southland operated, Southland managed, Southland through and through. We’re your local gym, right in the CBD (beside Pak n Save!)

10. We’ve got a great team
Our team includes gym instructors, group fitness instructors and personal trainers – and they’re focused on ensuring our members get quality advice and support when they need it. Our team are friendly, approachable and here to help you!
